loose ends from previous entries
Apparently some people found my wording unclear and misleading two entries ago.
Poll #1179888 Fucked Over
Open to: All, detailed results viewable to: All, participants: 18
Quite a few people missed a critically important word in one of the recent entries, the word "over", so instead of "fucked over" they just read "fucked". The sentence:
"Rather, it is that in this time, especially the weekend of the 9th, I fucked a bunch of different, unrelated people over in various ways that are unacceptable, just completely beyond fucked up."
when read without the word "over" would mean that the weekend of the 9th I had made out with, intimately touched, and had sexual intercourse with a bunch of different, unrelated people.
what I actually said, and meant, is that I was selfish and oblivious, broke promises, let people down, and left them stranded, all in a completely nonsexual way.
That'll teach me to split my phrasal verbs. I didn't even know that's what they were called until looking them up just now at http://grammar.ccc.commnet.edu/gram mar/phrasals.htm
In other news:
Two weeks ago I brought the parrotlets to New York. So far both the parrotlets and my roommates have survived, but who knows what will happen next. Maybe they can fight the mice in the apartment - there's two birds, two mice, and they're all about the same size. It would literally be a steel cage death match. But, seriously, I don't know how all these birds, rodents, and humans will get along now that I am about to ditch them all for a while.
I just bought a ticket to Tel Aviv, leaving Thursday May 1. I haven't bought a return ticket, but my current plan is to come back to New York in time for one or more of the following:
Echo - May 30 to Jun 1 - first Russian camping festival of the summer, more rock
KSP - Jun 13 to 15 - biggest Russian camping festival of the summer, more acoustic
Gogol Bordello - Jun 20 to 21
